MONOVA: STORIES OF BELONGING ON THE NORTH SHORE

Through dramatic monologue, storytelling and song, this virtual tour will introduce you to a few people who have called the North Shore home. Prompted by the belongings, artifacts and images found in the new Museum’s permanent gallery and the Archives, MONOVA’s Actor-Interpreters and Indigenous Cultural Programmers will share a collection of heart-touching stories; stories of firsts, stories of struggles, and stories of connection. From savvy Shipyard workers to accomplished athletes, what connects these stories through time? This tour can be accessed on either the VR Voyage platform or by QR code in the permanent gallery at MONOVA: Museum of North Vancouver.

ABOUT MONOVA: MUSEUM OF NORTH VANCOUVER

MONOVA: Museum of North Vancouver, operated by the North Vancouver Museum and Archives, is a shared partner agency of the City and District of North Vancouver. It operates both the Museum (115 West Esplanade) in The Shipyards and the Archives (3203 Institute Road) located in Lynn Valley. In addition to the two physical visitor centres, MONOVA supports several other online/offsite experiences for the public to engage with and learn about the past, present and future stories of North Vancouver. This tour was filmed in the summer of 2021 before the opening of the new Museum site. To learn more about the museum, visit their partner page: Museum of North Vancouver
